After UNC loss, ‘Crying Jordan’ meme re-emerges with a vengeance

If you were rooting for North Carolina in last night’s NCAA championship men’s basketball game, chances are you shed some tears after the team’s stunning buzzer-beater loss to Villanova.

Among the thousands of UNC fans who traveled to Houston’s NRG Stadium to see the action live was legendary basketball star Michael Jordan, who also happens to be a North Carolina alum. And, as you may know, he’s is the subject of a pretty popular meme that’s based off a 2009 photo of him crying while being inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame, as NPR reports.

So, what do you get when North Carolina loses and Michael Jordan is in attendance? More viral memes of him crying, but of course.

Besides random user creations, there is a Twitter account entirely dedicated to a meme of Jordan crying.

Once the night had ended, the creator left their audience with a final image before signing off:
