That’s according to U.S. Census Bureau population estimates released this month, which bottom line say Baby Boomers are no longer America’s dominant generation.

According to the estimates, as reported by Pew Research Center, there are 75.4 million Millennials versus 74.9 million Baby Boomers in the U.S. Millennials are identified as those born between 1981 and 1997, and between the ages of 18-34 years old, while Baby Boomers are those born between 1946 and 1964 and between 51-69 years old.

Young immigrants and Baby Boomer deaths are some reasons why the Millennials have surpassed Baby Boomers in size, Pew says. It’s predicted that by 2050, the Millennial count will reach 79.2 million, and the Baby Boomer population will drop to 16.6 million.

Over the last several years, Baby Boomers had consistently dominated other generations. In 1999, the Census Bureau reports, there were 78.8 million boomers in the United States.
