Most tweens don’t detect flaws in major social networks.

But Jani is not a typical 10-year-old boy — this Finland resident hacked Instagram.

And when he told Facebook, which owns Instagram, about his find, the company awarded him $10,000, according to CNBC.

Jani said that he was able to delete comments made by other users after implementing a “malicious code” into the application, CNBC reports.

Facebook launched its Bug Bounty program in 2011, in which it recognizes and rewards “security researchers who help us keep people safe by reporting vulnerabilities in our services. Monetary bounties for such reports are entirely at Facebook’s discretion,” according to its website.

CNBC reports that the program has awarded over $4.3 million to over 800 individuals so far.

And the business news site also makes an interesting point: “According to Facebook’s own rules, he is too young to have an Instagram account.”
