It turns out not all emoji usages are as innocent as you might think.
Case in point: A 12-year-old girl from Fairfax, Va., has been charged with threatening her school because of an Instagram post she made in December, according to The Washington Post. In part, her post read:
Killing 🔫
“meet me in the library Tuesday”
🔫 🔪 💣
According to the Post, the student’s Instagram update was discovered on Dec. 14 by a resource officer at Lanier Middle School in Fairfax. A search warrant was initiated soon thereafter.
The girl associated with the account later admitted that the post was hers and that she used the name of another student.
Since information regarding juvenile hearing are not open to the public, it is unknown whether the case has been resolved, the paper reports.
